Padho Bharat by India Humanity Foundation is a nationwide literacy movement dedicated to promoting the joy of reading and making education accessible to underserved communities across India. Through large-scale book collection drives, library creation initiatives, and community participation, the program connects donated books with children, schools, and grassroots institutions in need. The campaign achieved remarkable success in 2025, with more than 3 lakh books collected from across the country and over *1,50,000+ books were distributed 1000+ libraries created for underprivileged children and communities. The initiative united Schools, Students, Volunteers , City Leaders and Co-City leaders, NGOs, Corporates, and Social Organizations in a collective mission to spread knowledge and inspire learning. By transforming donated books into opportunities for education and growth, Padho Bharat continues to empower young minds and build a more literate, inclusive, and compassionate India.

Padho Bharat 2026 – Inter School Book Collection Competition, launched by India Humanity Foundation a nationwide literacy movement engaging schools across Pan India to promote education, social responsibility, and the joy of reading. Schools will register through the official portal and encourage students to donate books for undeserved communities. The collected book count must be uploaded on the portal before 15th August 2026. Each participating school will be guided by a mapped City Leader, who will coordinate and verify the final collection count. Only verified counts will be considered for the competition. City Leaders may also participate as individual donors.

Schools will compete within categories based on student strength. Winners will be selected using the formula:
(Number of Books Collected ÷ Total Number of Students) × 100%.

In case of a tie, the school with the higher number of books collected will be declared the winner.

Every participating school will receive a Certificate of Participation, while category winners will be honoured with Rolling Trophies and outstanding student contributors will receive Digital Certificates of Excellence. Additionally, for every 500 books donated, a library will be created in an underprivileged school or community, with the contributing school’s name proudly displayed at the library site.

The winners will be felicitated at a grand ceremony in Kolkata on the occasion of International Literacy Day on 8th September, 2026. The entire competition will be monitored and managed by the India Humanity Foundation team.
